A Nigerian drug smuggler was arrested in Switzerland because he stuffed 123 condoms with cocaine. He proceeded to swallow them adding 3.7 pounds to his stomach. There was so much cocaine in one condom that it could have killed anyone. The Nigerian was with 6 other people who were stopped after running a red light near the border of Geneva. Cocaine trafficing is becoming popular between Spain and France. The border control was able to retrieve all of the capsules after a few days.
I found this article very interesting but the way it was written was rather boring. These guys put cocaine in condoms and swallowed them to prevent getting caught by some sort of authority. That is repulsive. I would have like to have seen the writer go into further detail about how the men reacted when they were caught. How did the border guards know that they had swallowed condoms full of cocaine? This story was juicy but not a lot of detail was provided.

Drug trafficing has become a huge problem over the years but i have NEVER heard of smuggling then with condoms. That was pretty hilarious but stupid at the same time. I guess these people are just ready to die or don’t quite know what they’re getting into. Interesting article though !! 🙂

I have always wondered why people would be insane enough to swallow condoms filled with cocaine. On the other hand, I’m 99.999% sure I don’t want to know.

I also heard this story, but in what appears to be a much more interesting manner. I was listening to The Kane Show on 99.5 and they have a segment called “moron madness”, where they each compare news stories in which the subject has done something moronic. It was hysterical.

I had not heard about this, but it is hilariously believable. I am too bummed that the reporter did not take a more humorous approach to the reporting – kept it very bland. Easily could have made the piece more entertaining and informative.

I read about this story online. This is so shocking to me that they were able to swallow condoms with THAT much cocaine. Something is definitely wrong with these people if they are going through that much effort to smuggle a drug.

I agree that the style used to present this story was very straight forward. This article was not intended to be funny, but a fact by fact story. I do however understand why the news story was not written in a humorous way because drug trafficking is out of control in Switzerland. A while back I read a story how in the 90’s there was an epidemic of drug trafficking, so stories like the one present above are very serious.

I don’t really mind that the story dealt with the news in a non-funny manner, but for the record, “The border control was able to retrieve all of the capsules after a few days” is a funny euphemism, considering how they “retrieved” the capsules. 5/5.
