The President is Black

Obama’s black, WHAT?

Chris Matthews claimed, “I forgot Obama was black for an hour” http://www.bvblackspin.com/2010/01/28/chris-matthews-msnbc-i-forgot-obama-was-black-for-an-hour/” One MSNBCs most respected voices forgets the President’s black for an hour? This article claims that Matthews, while listening to Obama deliver his State of the Union speech, delivered it so well he forgot his race.

It starts by the author of the article saying how he feels about the comment. He believes the comment was racist and would only come from a historical liberal society. Clearly, not impressed by Matthews. The author does make a good point in saying that if Obama would have said something along the lines of “I am a black man” would have ruined his whole speech, according to Matthews. This makes me question other opinions of Matthews reckless comment.

I also think the author is correct in saying that we are not in a post-racial America, because obviously we are not there. I believe we should respect other’s races and these sorts of comments, should not be made. Whether Matthews really meant that or not it was rude and as someone who is always being quoted in the media, he knows better. Think before you speak. In the article Chris Matthews also attempts to clarify what he meant by the comment. Its interesting and you should check it out.

How could a journalist from a major news corporation forget the president was black based on how intelligent his speech was. It just goes to show that people will say anything that comes to mind with no respect for live T.V.

I’m positive his boss gave him an ear-full for that little comment.

Wow, seriously?! That comment is crazy. I’m actually really surprised that he would even say that and it makes me sad to think that people still think this way.
